A 65 year old man presents a mild bleeding history with mucosa bleedings and epistaxis. Blood cell count shows slight sign of anemia. Now a coloscopy is planned, after positive stool blood tests. A possible hemorrhagic disorder should be classified before. Global coagulation assays are in the normal range.
A blood sample was sent to the laboratory after a POCT test for APTT. Test result: 39.5 sec. (reference range: 25 – 39 sec.).
