A severe haemophilia A patient treated with emicizumab, case study

In 2021 the following case study was distributed to ECAT participants:

A severely injured patient reports haemophilia and prophylactic treatment to the first aid personnel arriving at the accident site. Due to a complex trauma intubation is necessary at accident site.

The patient was transported to your hospital and the written report at hospital admission indicates:
– Thorax Trauma
– Leg trauma
– “haemophilia treatment”

The participants were asked to carry out relevant laboratory tests and interpret the results. Also to perform drug monitoring and report the level.

 

The sample used in this case study survey was from a severe haemophilia A patient treated with emicizumab.
