ADAMTS13 plays an important role in Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP). In this contribution Prof. Dr. Gary Moore gives an overview of the biology of ADAMTS13, a brief history of TTP, the pathophysiology of TTP, causes of TTP, the clinical presentation of TTP and laboratory investigations for TTP, including detailed descriptions of different test for the measurement of ADAMTS13 and it’s inhibitors.
